Objectives of the year

The main objective of the year is to master your oral skills in English to be at the top of your game for the final exam.

For this, we will continue the job started in seconde, and première. In addition, you'll have to frequently explain what you do and why you do so.

You will have to use general and specific vocabulary and knowledge about sports, but also a cultural background concerning social facts related to sport and society (doping, sport and disabilities, the media, the Olympics, money...).

The final exam is an oral exam (no physical demonstration !). Your mark will only depend on your English skills (vocabulary, grammar, fluency, accent, pronunciation) and knowledge (technique, tactics, training, rules, culture).

The exam (40') is split into 2 parts :

1 :  Preparation time (20')

The jury gives the candidate a document (text, picture, video, audio...). The candidate is allowed 20 minutes to prepare his/her presentation.

2 :  Oral test (20')

1 : the candidate speaks for 10 minutes about a document (introduces the document, comments, sums up the main ideas, compares with what he/she knows on the topic at hand, discusses, develops ideas, gives examples, concludes).

2 : the candidate converses with the jury (1 English teacher and 1 PE teacher) for 10 minutes.

The documents and the conversation are related to topics that we have worked on during those 3 years in the euro class.

To get additional points for your BAC and the euro mention,

you must get a minimum grade of :

12/20 at the compulsory English test and

                        10/20 at the euro exam.
